LogiNext Solutions - Last Mile Distribution Optimization’ to battle Last mile delivery Challenges

CIO Vendor Capturing India’s rapidly growing e-commerce market has been a Holy Grail of tech entrepreneurs for years. During this trail, Indian logistics companies have had to overcome serious hurdles. Different carriers have to be used for different regions of the country. For orders sourced outside the major cities, individual couriers often have to be hired to make last mile deliveries from drop-off points by bicycle. Adding fuel to fire is the Last mile delivery- the final leg of the supply Chain. It is generally the most expensive, least efficient and most problematic part of the overall delivery process. In an attempt to battle this challenge, LogiNext’s flagship service, Last Mile Distribution Optimization plans the entire movement of the client’s shipments. As a testimony to the efficaciousness of the service, LogiNext, headquartered in Maharashtra, was successful in helping one of the largest logistics company based in Mumbai. The client had 80,000 deliveries on an average day that had to be carried on with the help of 400 delivery boys. Leveraging its tech-savvy team who has ample analytical experience, LogiNext formulated a solution that effectively divided the shipments across the available delivery boys based on their capacity. The company planned out the entire route and delivery schedule. Additionally, the company was effective in predicting the ETA along with undertaking dispatch optimization and Load balancing. This led to lowering the percentages of missed deliveries and the distance travelled thereby trimming down unnecessary outages.

LogiNext adeptly merges Retail Distribution with e-tail Deliveries by meticulously planning the client’s Retail Distribution in a way that the e-commerce deliveries can be undertaken simultaneously. “We have enabled a system where the required product will be available to the customer within 60 minutes of placing the order. The delivery boys plying in that particular area will be notified and they pick up the required product from the nearest retail shop and deliver to the customer. This has not only reduced the time-span, but also increased ROI,” says, Dhruvil Sanghvi, Co-founder LogiNext. Furthermore, the company maintains real time tracking and recordings of the client’s shipments that undergo multiple mode of transportation via multiple data collection. “We partner with airlines so that we can monitor the flights movements. Similarly, we place GPS trackers and mobile apps to the delivery boys’ devices,” adds Dhruvil. Realizing the importance of temperature and quality of perishables in transit, LogiNext has made provisions to keep a constant tab on the goods. In case the temperature drops below the stipulated limit or rises above, the client will be alerted, thereby enabling timely correction of faulty infrastructure leading to trimming excess outages.
