The United States-based artificial intelligence (AI) company Cerebras Systems said that it has partnered with United Arab Emirates-based technology company G42 to deploy the first of up to nine AI supercomputers under the terms of a transaction worth about $100 million. As a result of the rising demand for ChatGPT and other services, as well as the market leader in AI computing, Nvidia Corp.'s products, which are in short supply, are being sought after by cloud computing providers around the world. This is why the deal was made at this time. One of the many firms attempting to compete with Nvidia is Cerebras.

 

G42 has committed to buy three of what Silicon Valley company Cerebras calls its Condor Galaxy systems, all of which it will manufacture in the US to hasten the rollout. Two more will follow in early 2024, with the first one going online this year. Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman called the agreement the beginning of a "strategic partnership" and said the two businesses are in discussions to purchase up to six more supercomputers by the end of 2024.

 

Feldman plans to move to the UAE for three months to work with G42 on developing its computing service based on the systems, calling it "a rare opportunity to change a massive market."
